Why PlaceFinder exists
Most maps are built for getting from A to B. PlaceFinder is built for the places you want to keep — the café you would go back to, the lookout a friend mentioned once, the neighbourhood walk that turned into a weekend plan. It starts on the map where you are, then helps you save, organise, and share without losing the plot.
The product is deliberately map-first. You open the app and see what is around you. Tap a place for directions, reviews, a phone number, a website, or a save action without bouncing between five different screens. When you are ready to go deeper, place detail gives you photos, check-ins, and the context you need to decide.
Saving without the mess
Bookmarking tools fail quietly: the same place ends up in three lists, offline copies go stale, and shared folders become archaeology. PlaceFinder keeps a simple rule — a place lives in Saved or in one collection, never both — so your library stays readable months later.
Collections are for stories you can send. Give them a name, a description, and public or private visibility. Cover art comes from the first place photo. Share a collection with a link that opens in the app with a rich preview, or keep it on your profile when it is public.
Trips friends can actually open
Trip planning in chat threads falls apart the moment someone is offline. PlaceFinder trips let you build days, reorder stops, invite friends in-app or by link, and keep a local cache when the network drops. Everyone sees the same plan instead of a screenshot of a screenshot.
Invites can be accepted or declined. Pending edits sync when you are back online. The goal is not a spreadsheet of destinations — it is a shared itinerary that survives weak signal and late changes.
Offline maps for real travel
Download map regions before you leave coverage. Progress is visible while packs download, and your saved places and trips stay available from cache. That matters in mountains, on ferries, and in cities where roaming is expensive.
Notifications and a weekly local digest help you come back to the map without turning PlaceFinder into noise. An in-app inbox keeps unread items in one place when you are ready to catch up.
What ships today
Everything on this page is available in the Android app on Google Play. iOS is coming soon. The website exists so you can understand the product, read privacy and terms, and download PlaceFinder without guessing what “coming soon” features are hiding behind the marketing.
If you want a longer walkthrough, read the guides on saving places, offline maps, and planning trips with friends — then install the app and start from the map you are standing on.
Shared links land in the app: places, collections, trip invites, profiles, and offline map regions all open where they should.
